Spencer Hawes is out $15,000 after playing in a University of Washington alumni game.
According to a Yahoo Sports report, the NBA also fined guards Quincy Pondexter and Tony Wroten of the Memphis Grizzlies and guard Isaiah Thomas of the Sacramento Kings for playing in the unsactioned game.
The game was played on June 23 in Seattle's Alaska Airlines Arena. The NBA's collective bargaining agreement states that players can't play in public offseason games before July 1 or after September 15 without approval from the league.
Hawes played college ball for the University of Washington before being drafted by the Kings in 2007. He signed a two-year contract extension with the Sixers shortly after the end of the 2011-12 season.
