The NBA has released the 2013-2014 schedule, which give fans reason to be excited, as it shows the basketball season is quickly approaching.

It looks as if the new-look Sixers will be put to the test early, facing a match-up with the defending champion Miami Heat on Oct. 30 in their season opener at home.

Sixers fans will be able to see a lot of their team early, as the Sixers play seven of the first nine games of the season at Wells Fargo Center.

Fans will also get to see a great deal of the Sixers again immediately following the All-Star break, which is when the team plays five straight (longest stretch at home) in Philly.

The Sixers will have a six-game road trip from Dec. 21 to Jan. 4, traveling to Milwaukee, Phoenix, Los Angeles (Lakers), Denver, Sacramento and Portland.

The Sixers are also facing a tiring time with 20 sets of back-to-back games over the course of season.

Former Sixers will return to the Wells Fargo Center early and often throughout the season. Former fan favorite, Andre Iguodala and the Warriors visit on Nov. 4. Jrue Holiday and the New Orleans Pelicans come to town on Nov. 29 and Andrew Bynum returns with Cleveland on Nov. 8 and Feb. 18.
Lastly, the Sixers are facing a tough stretch of games at the tail end of the season. Nine of their final 13 games will be played on the road, which includes the team’s season finale clash with the Miami Heat on April 16.
